Volunteer Opportunity

Please join the ACP Maryland Chapter  to volunteer with Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland on June 15, 2024 from 8am-11am. As part of this volunteer group we will be packing meals to be delivered to meals on wheels clients.

There are a few guidelines to keep in mind for this volunteer activity: 

• Wear closed-toed, sensible shoes with rubber soles that are nonslip. 

• Wear long pants; shorts are not permitted. 

• Wear a shirt with any length sleeves; tank tops are not permitted. 

• Wear a minimal amount of jewelry; expensive and/or large pieces are not permitted. 

• Be able to stand the entire time. 

• Wear the protective items provided by Meals on Wheels (hairnet, apron, & non-latex gloves). 

• You may bring a water bottle with you to volunteer, however, you MUST leave it on the Volunteer Services desk and are welcome to get water whenever needed. 

• Refrain from chewing gum

 

We welcome non-ACP members, residents, and students to this event, as long as they complete the application and send their name as given below. This is a great opportunity for Non-ACP members to get to know our chapter while volunteering alongside our wonderful governor Dr. Christmas and many other ACP physicians, residents and students.

Please complete the required Volunteer Form for Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland. Please notify Dr. Jyotsna Gummadi, Jyotsnagummadi11@gmail.com once you have completed the form so that you can be added to our registration list.

 

We would also like to request you to bring any canned products to the event, so that we can donate to Maryellen's suggested beans and bread group for the needy.

We host monthly Story Swaps on the second Thursday of each month from 7:00-8:00 pm
