ACP's High Value Care (HVC) initiative is a broad program designed to help physicians provide the best possible care to their patients while simultaneously reducing unnecessary costs to the health care system. Resident/Fellow Abstract Competitions
The College sponsors free local and national competitions especially for Residents/Fellows that offer monetary awards and the chance to win recognition. The winning entries are featured each year at the ACP Internal Medicine Meeting. Winners and finalists receive complimentary registration to the meeting.

Chapters & Regions
The College conducts many of its activities through local units called chapters and regions. There are 83 ACP chapters/regions located in the United States and internationally. Chapters offer opportunities for members to get involved, develop leadership skills, voice opinions, and engage in debates.

Each chapter has a Governor who oversees the chapter and serves as the representative of the region to the national organization. Together, all of the Governors make up ACP's Board of Governors (BOG). The BOG is ACP's advisory body to the College's policymaking body, the Board of Regents. The Council of Resident/Fellow Members supports the professional development and quality of life for Resident/Fellow Members.
