The web-based Legislative Action Center gives members an easy way to respond to current ACP legislative alerts, find out who their federal legislators are, and compose an e-mail or call their members of Congress.

High Value Care Resources
ACP's High Value Care (HVC) initiative is a broad program designed to help physicians provide the best possible care to their patients while simultaneously reducing unnecessary costs to the health care system. The primary resources offered to help ACP members deliver high value care are free online/mobile-friendly educational programs. These 30- to 60-minute interactive case studies are based on real patients, and provide you with tools to incorporate what you learned into your practice.

Career Planning

Resident/Fellow Abstract Competitions
The College sponsors free local and national competitions especially for Residents/Fellows that offer monetary awards and the chance to win recognition. The winning entries are featured each year at the ACP Internal Medicine Meeting. Winners and finalists receive complimentary registration to the meeting.

 

Doctor's Dilemma™
ACP's national medical jeopardy competition, held each year at ACP’s annual meeting, allows dozens of teams of residents and medical students from around the nation to compete for the coveted title of national champion. Doctor's Dilemma is also available as an iPhone app.

Chapters & Regions
The College conducts many of its activities through local units called chapters and regions. There are 83 ACP chapters/regions located in the United States and internationally. Chapters offer opportunities for members to get involved, develop leadership skills, voice opinions, and engage in debates.

Each chapter has a Governor who oversees the chapter and serves as the representative of the region to the national organization. Together, all of the Governors make up ACP's Board of Governors (BOG). The BOG is ACP's advisory body to the College's policymaking body, the Board of Regents. Council of Resident/Fellow Members
The Council of Resident/Fellow Members supports the professional development and quality of life for Resident/Fellow Members. ACP’s Clinical Skills Program offers a variety of training programs on office-based procedures, physical examinations, and communication skills at ACP's annual Internal Medicine Meeting, or through videos and training modules. Clinical Skills training is included in the Internal Medicine meeting registration, or by purchasing a video at a member discount.
